- Blood and radiology request forms are kept in the top 2 drawers on the RHS of the desk nearest the ABG machine
- To order CXRs: complete Formstream and page 5051. Ensure that the patient’s nurse is aware of the request and are prepared. Complete the sticker stating the findings once reviewed. Patients having internal jugular or subclavian central lines, percutaneous tracheostomies, or NG tubes require routine CXR following the procedure.
- Ensure that you are familiar with the defibrillator on the ICU. The device has the capacity for external pacing.
- The ICU page does not clearly transmit the voice message associated with an arrest call if located in ICU. Contact switchboard on 2222 to clarify location.
- Vancomycin dosing is by continuous infusion. The calculator can be found by searching “Vancomycin” on the Raigmore intranet.
